A game, not quite as exciting or intense as the VAN-BOS showdown on the weekend, but it was damned close... both teams had some holiday turkey to work off, but the goalies remained exceptionally sharp at both ends keeping this a low scoring affair... the first game of the new year saw a rare no-sub situation as both regular full time rosters were present for this one...Team Scrooge played catch up for most of the night down 0-2 and trying to claw back into the game... and a powerplay marker was just what the doctor ordered... at the expense of Frank Riccardi, stuck in the sin bin at the time, but he gets the last laugh as his scintillating effort on a partial breakaway ices the game in grand fashion... and after the opposition worked so hard to tie it too... one of the closer games in recent memory and shapes up to be a great 2nd half series as Team Grinch have notched their first win of the new year and have that precious momentum squarely in their hands.
