Team Viagra 9 vs. Team Cialis 6 Friday, June 22, 2012
So the Cinderella run is over for Team Cialis as they come up short in the final game of the series (and season), hoping for a win and let the pre-planned shootout decide matters... but the opposition had other plans and it was Team Viagra that finally sealed the series after four previous attempts... they came out in attacking waves, with sub Joe Dasilva making his mark yet again, working some great give and go with Aaron Oye. Meanwhile, Ravi Naidu made a welcome return wearing loaner gear and making some adjustments in the process... the play was not as close as the final score indicated, while the desperation was clearly on the Cialis end as they were forced to play a man down and that man was none other than their best player, Sean Oye, who was mysteriously AWOL on this night... so the loss was not a surprising one, but a bit disappointing after their previous three weeks of tide turning momentum.
And off to the shootout where a small measure of redemption was exacted as Team Cialis outlasted Team Viagra on the heels of a 3-1 score, with unlikely (but welcome) goals coming from their D-corps in Gord Chan and Sherman Woo, making their moves against the rookie debut of goalie John Law. And so the season concludes and some food, drink and laughs were on tap at the season wrap party at BP. Hope you all enjoy your summer and off-season as we look forward to the 2012/13 season this fall!
