Two consecutive wins has been done before, but two wins to open a season? A ridiculous feat, but all in a day's work for Stan Quan as he survives the ups and downs of tournament play to book his second straight victory and cement a role atop the season leaderboard. The only bright light for the others is knowing the last-event-bounty carries forward to live another day, else the usual suspects were present including last season's champ, Amy Dass who makes a fine showing in runner-up position with some crafty play... and sporting Movember muffins at her side too... of which helped raise a respectable $60 from our group towards the worthy cause... otherwise, Mark Yu rebounded nicely from last event's caboose finish to rally in third and more importantly, ITM.
Otherwise, everyone else was eating their dust and relegated to the losers' lounge where the host neglected to point out they were playing with dud decks of cards until sometime in the mid-stages... at least most of the crowd had their snazzy non-NHL themed garb on for a colorful fashion plate of an evening and a good night of poker action to boot. Thanks to all that contributed to the evening's food/drink/top-ups... we look for one more possible outing before the year rings out. 'Til next time!
