Team WHITE 9 vs. Team DARK 7 Friday, April 19, 2013
A come from behind victory for Team White, but one that deservedly goes into the history books with a huge asterisk beside it... where not one, but two (!) Dark goals were recalled on controversial offside calls... and whether the calls were just or not was irrelevant, but rather the meek Bambi-like volume used to timidly stop the play was the kicker, making for carryover action and the puck in the back of the White net... unfortunate for everyone, and Team White received a justifiable warning with a looming delay-of-game call for strike three (which never occurred)... but arguably it was a clear momentum buster as Team Dark would have run away with the score mid-game, but somehow, someway, Team White clawed back with some timely (and lucky) goals of their own after a scintillating start by Wayland Young, looking unbeatable in the early going... and amidst a penalty parade tonight (on both sides) in a variety of infractions, interference, tripping, high-sticking, hooking, take your pick... but ultimately, Team Dark were forced to pull their goalie in hopes of some late game heroics, but was not to be as Team White worked down the final seconds keeping the play safely in the opposition zone, much to the delight of our 1 fan in attendance.
