Season 6 opener kicks off!

The MDPL launches season #6 on a dubious Friday the Thirteenth, which was arguably unlucky for everyone except the season's first champ, none other than the savvy veteran, Vince Fung. The inaugural event was an intended dual table, "Whitecaps vs. the World" bounty showdown, but a less-than-impressive turnout by the former resulted in make-shift, even-up teams to preserve the format while (ironically) just a few bounties ultimately changed hands when it was all said and done. Nonetheless, the chips were flying and it was a good night to get the peeps back together again as well as witness the epic debut of rookie Gerard Tang, whose legendary resurrection from near-death with just $50 in chips (i.e. a paltry 1/4 of a big blind) all the way to a Cinderella comeback and a runner-up finish on the night. Stunning. Otherwise, sophomore Raymond Chow finishes up in 3rd with solid play, while your host was just happy to share that red wine and collect his whopping $5 bounty and get an early leaderboard appearance.
