Vince caps the dramatic showdown!

Well well well. What a dramatic night to cap season six! With fiver bounties and $6 in late fees (but less-than-stellar World Cup country adornment for show-em chips) somehow, someway, Vince Fung and Gerard Tang managed to finish after the final event with a crazy tie in the overall standings... thanks to a modest $5 bounty win from Vince to pull into a deadlock... setting up for some sudden-death OT drama.
Meanwhile, somewhere along the way, your whiny host managed to break his no-outright-winning-hand streak (dating back to last event) in round sevenish and managed to hang on for his first event victory of his sad season... taking out runner-up (and last event winner) Stan Quan who was riding his own personal hot streak and even had a legit shot to take the overall title himself. Frank Riccardi, our math teacher and ankle-rehabber, made a rare appearance for this season and rounded up 3rd spot for his troubles.
Alas, the main event tie-breaker took place after the 10-man tourney in an ultimate heads-up showdown as Vince and Gerard battled it out in a looney-vs.-looney $2 cash prize and when the dust settled, Vince Fung prevailed and took the MDPL cup in his crescendo performance after six previous seasons of hard work, while Gerard plays silver medalist today but rests easy on some pretty solid ITM career stats to-date. All and all a wrap for the season with such a dramatic end (and crazy statistical odds to boot). Thanks to everyone that participated all season long and see you in the fall. Have a great summer!
