Alumnus Ian turns back the clock.

A hastily assembled two-table affair made for a dynamic night of poker but also a run on girl guide cookies selling out the inventory tonight and adorning everyone with a coveted show-em chip. Thank you for supporting girl guides, as our lone seller would say.
So it was a full house in attendence including first-timer, rookie Christine Dunsworth, armed with a case of beer and her poker prowess wrangling her way to an impressive 4th place debut including a few sweet bluffs along the way. Fellow Whitecaps staffer Jackie Lushao also bursts his ITM cherry tonight with a solid 3rd place and some timely pocket rockets to help his cause. In the main event, it was recent veteran J-Lau taking on longtime veteran Ian Chang in heads-up for all the marbles, and while J-Lau did all the heavy lifting to that point (with a tourney-high 8 take-outs), it was the cagey alumnus Ian, taking it all down and vaulting himself into the overall season lead in the process. Fitting indeed, since he did bring poker chips, tortilla chips and a slew of chairs to make the night run smoothly for everyone, so he has 320 reasons to justify his efforts tonight. As for the rest of us, we were basically road kill as 17 wannabes whittled down to the final fantastic four you see below tonight.
Bonus kudos to Mark Yu for bringing my current favourite wine for us to enjoy (Apothetic Red, for those of you needing to pay attention for next time, ha)... and thanks to everyone else that contributed snacks (unhealthy and healthy ones too) and drinks to our worthy yet modest social cause. See you all next time!
