Crazy hats were out in (nearly) full force on a warm summer evening as the MDPL kicks off yet again with a veteran crew in tow. Players were feeling loose (or lucky) in the early going and the rebuy activity was enough to push the total prize pool over the $400 mark... but of course, one by one they fell yet (somewhat suprisingly) there was pot chop talk at the 6-player mark?! Of course the host would have none of it and the slugfest continued (yet in hindsight, the host finishing on the bubble might make him reconsider that in the future)... and when the dust settled, it was two cagey Higher Gunz veterans Ian and Vince, playing runner-up to the relative rookie on our circuit, Steve Bridge, making his career leaderboard debut with a $240 victory with some solid poker playing under his belt all night long. Well done young man.
