MDPL campaign number nine lifts off and who would have thunk it? Certainly not I, yet a handful of original witnesses from our inaugural season were also in the mix tonight (can you spot them?) as our circuit gets underway with long time vets, recent regulars and one rookie in Lucas Alves, nephew of that strong silent one, Carlos Alves. The former still needs to find his sea legs here, but not the latter, who finishes as the first winner of the season, schooling the rest of us on patient play and pouncing at the precise moment. Good for him and also good for runners-up, Vincent Fung and Jason Lai, finishing ITM and padding their overall career numbers too. Just over half of the members put on their fresh white collared shirts to earn their show-em chips and looking sharp for the camera, while a fine assortment of red wine and scotch helped the rest of the night along. Always dramatic when a late straggler appears, in this case, Quincy Ko, to juice the pot with the late fee getting that wild man Andrew Tilston onto the leaderboard too. Nice to get another season underway and thanks to all for their food and drink contributions tonight. See you next time!
