What a night of fights... on the table and also on the big screen for a much-hyped UFC 217 PPV viewing... all after a hearty buffet dinner here for a rare early start on the evening. It turned out to be a highly entertaining card with great action and all three title fights going by way of the challengers... capped by the main event where GSP completed his 4-year comeback... taking the middleweight title by submitting Bisping with a crafty rear naked choke. War!
And back to the table for more fighting, of the poker variety, with show-em chips in return for MMA-wear... but other than usual shirts and bandanas, standout mentions go to Dharmesh Dass, with his sweet pro wrasslin mask and Steve Bridge, who went the extra mile to change into his tighty workout gear. Love the efforts but alas the reward did not pay off for either as it was three other ITM winners, all fighting back off the mat with their last chips on the line at certain points of the match... outlasting the others in this virtual slugfest. The host (and current leaderboard champ) managed to lay his own trap with his flopped straight producing an insta-call against two pairs, leaving Stan Quan all but decimated en route to his runner-up finish. Meanwhile, Christian Halim, subbed in as a late replacement to the 10th seat, was rewarded kindly with third place and some solid play too. The evening finished up nicely thanks to some savvy PVR recording timing from your host, but also due to chip-ups, money counting, and cleanup efforts from many others too. Much appreciated. A good night for all, and was extra memorable with all that cheering and fanfare in the media room. G-S-P! G-S-P!
