A night to remember?

Only six days after the last event, the MDPL took advantage of the long weekend to get back at it, with most of the previous candidates returning, but also born-again rookies Eric Lau and Amy Dass, making rare appearances after 3+ year absences. Just like riding a bike, right? Maybe yes, or maybe no, as both finished in the bottom half while donating handily to the cause... and speaking of donations, the MDPL collectively contributed $50 to the Royal Canadian Legion Poppy Fund (via a mailed cheque) and in some small way, have recognized this iconic weekend and the freedom we all now enjoy... to hammer each other on the poker table and do other stuff too. Most of the hammering was done (or incited by) Andrew Tilston who rides a rollercoaster swing of chips and laying yet another claim to the tooney late fee prize (which is clearly a milestone he cherishes). Meanwhile, most of us were just happy to win a hand at some point in the evening, and none more so than Lynn Wilcott, whose 2+ hour of patience finally paid off to win his first hand and ride that disciplined play all the way to a runner-up finish. Norm Chan rebounded nicely from his flame out last week to finish in 3rd place and collected the last-champ bounty too, but it was J-Lau, also playing the patient/long game, collecting chips and mowing down half the field en route to victory and found himself a ride home to boot. A good night indeed. Congrats to the winners and thanks for coming out to play with your food/drink contributions too.
