WINTER 2018 SERIES: MDHL GAME #1 REVIEW

Team DARK 8 vs. Team WHITE 12
Friday, January 5, 2018

Happy New Year. First game of 2018 and everyone looked like they were in need of serious post-turkey workouts... except our stellar goalies who saw their fair share of rubber... especially memorable for Wayland Young, getting peppered against a fearsome line featuring his young son Nicholas, making his regular season debut in Brock Boeser like fashion... and making his linemates look great in the process. No less than 6 subs in the game and the play was choppy but the goals were still going in on some pretty plays too. The score started to get away from Team Dark, captained by veterans John Janetka and Frank Riccardi in their 2nd consecutive term, but they rallied with a flurry late in the game to keep things (somewhat) respectable... while noob captains, Jackson Chiu and Gord Chan, open the series with some savvy leadership and get a refreshing win for Team White in the process.

MDHL STARS OF THE GAME
  Wayland Young
No, not for the goalie, but rather his underage son injecting some youth and offense for the victors.
  Tim Tran
Too many top notch chances to not be recognized... now how about burying a few? K tx.
  Colin Lee
Sub alumnus shows off his power skating lessons with some smooth work on D.
