Saturday night's unofficial MDPL event was anything BUT uneventful! It was a special evening to play a bit of poker and raise funds for the folks at Movember. The charity theme really hit home with all 11 players as we had an unconfirmed record 13 rebuys in the first 5 rounds. The total prize pot was a whopping $590 on this night with 50% going to the Movember charity. Prizes were provided by some of my sponsors for the ITM finishers, plus a couple of prize draws for the folks at the table. Props to Mike Nishi for handing his prize to the co-host Jason which was a wine carrying case.
The first 5 hands were monster showdowns that included multiple full houses to set stage for a wild first half. There was some loose playing after this crazy start to say the least. In the end, Eric took down the tourney with his MONSTER stack. Fun was had by all and congratulations our three ITM finishers and thanks to everyone that contributed with food and drinks.
