The MDPL rings in 2019 with some casual poker, social time, and the continued opportunity to evoke good deeds into the new year, thanks to your food bank donations, in exchange for a show-em chip and a break on the intiial buy-in. The usual suspects were in attendance including a born-again, return to action by alumnus, Flavio Marquez, renewing aquaintances after a few years removed.
A full table and then some (for the post-match losers lounge) and it was the usual action by all (particularly Dharmesh Dass and J-Lau mixing it up) but also included a meekly quiet start turning into to a ridiculously solid finish by your host and event winner, taking out the final six players behind him en route to a stunning all-in-blind push to reveal pocket rockets to seal the win. A lightning-in-a-bottle performance, making one sweet memory for our victor to hang on to, so thanks for being a witness to it!
Otherwise, some savvy play by our ITM runners-up Steve Bridge and Markus Yu, with the latter executing some big league bluffs making good on his promise to fare better after a previous event with no hands won. All told, it was a lighter jackpot collected, but a hefty load of food donations, so call it a win-win situation. Thanks to all for the contributions tonight, including said donations as well as food and drink for the crew!
