With the century event now rumoured for an April date, the MDPL continued their social poker circuit with another STT, this time with the time honoured bounty theme from yesteryear. Unfortunately, no elaborate costumes appeared tonight (maybe we should offer a cash prize next time?) but there was a assortment of blasters, hand cuffs, flashlights and zip ties, but none were needed to collect these bounties, save for genuine poker savvy.
So who was the most savvy tonight? A deserving Markus Yu, taking home top honours (and bounty co-leader) with a determined effort and 3 healthy rebuys en route to victory. With that honour, Mark directed the $100 contribution from the collective pot to a charity from our shortlist, being the BC Cancer Foundation. Thank you to Mark and all the participants for making this happen. Meanwhile Quincy Ko was the runner-up and also most-feared bounty hunter (along with Mark), taking in 3 kills on this evening while the original poker gangsta, Ian Chang rounds out the ITM finishers with a cagey third place showing of his own.
Good times indeed, and my kid got to learn how to unlock handcuffs with a bobby pin too, so everyone got something out of tonight we hope. Thank you all for the gracious contributions tonight... wine, spicy chorizo, 7-layer dips, treats and of course your stellar company too. 'Til next time!
