Chips anyone?

After a decade of poker in our modest circuit, there are not too many surprises to be had (other than the obvious suck outs, 1-outers and donkey plays all around), but tonight was a surprise of surprises as MDPL vet Markus Yu (circa. 2009) shows up with his labour of love: a re-conditioned Paulson-turned-MDPL customized chip set, complete with artwork and oiling, to commemorate our century milestone. A project many weeks in the making and all kept under wraps until tonight by this stand up guy. Not a dry eye in the household on the unveiling, but good thing most of us had our crazy hats on to hide behind, thankfully.
So it was poker time on tap with a new chip set and a warm welcome for our newest participant Berny Leung, who already acquitted himself in spades upon entering the door with red wine and smoked salmon in hand, along with a stellar hat on too. All and all, the chipset was a big hit but it was our three ITM finishers who really enjoyed them en route collecting them all and taking our money too. New champ Warren Cheng dethroned ex-champ (Markus) to collect a resurrected $10 bounty tradition along the way, as he found his poker confidence over time (thanks to a few rebuys too).
Including his cash and the title, Warren also designated the Canuck Place Hospice as the recipient of the $100 donation from our collective pot. Thanks to everyone for their contributions of food, drink, company and of course that stellar chip set too! 'Til next time.
