Kicking it up a notch for Movember.

From past annual events with modest contributions, the MDPL, with special co-host Dharmesh Dass, elevated our collective game tonight along with everyone in attendance (and absentees Ray Chiang and Ian Chang, with their remote donations), to raise the bar with a $1015 Movember contribution, thanks to generous pre-game donations and 50 percent proceeds from the pot. Made for a unique night as the donators (which was everyone) started out with a special cards-up, all-in showdown to win a $2K chip bonus, and you can say it helped ITM finisher Mark Yu, but did absolutely squat for co-host J-Lai (unless his 13th place impresses anyone).
Two table action made for a crowded but fun atmosphere as we also welcomed newbies: Blaise, Dimple and brothers Jon and Hu, into the fray. Action was casual, yet fast and furious in the middle stages as spilled drinks and loose moustaches were flying in all directions. While players surely fell by the wayside, it was four ITM finishers smiling after the dust settled... with the brothers, Jon taking the title, book ended by Hu, while running-hot-lately Warren Cheng and super vet Mark Yu finished in between, all with special Movember prizes to go along with their cash take. Overall, the charity effort was the real winner tonight and glad everyone was there to be a part of it. Much gratitude to our participating guests and their contributions to make the evening happen (chairs, poker chips, food, and drink) with a special shout out to your co-host DD, whose 11-year Movember effort continues, while solely providing a grand collection of (winners and random draw) prizes, food, scotch (from his personal collection) and also picking up two extra large pizzas for us too... outstanding!
