Two tables, 6 feet apart… virtually.

Our virtual poker voyage (with social distancing) continued tonight with an expanded two table format and 18 hopefuls in the mix... but not without the usual technical and logistical hiccups to get rolling for some of the newbies, but roll we did, and with good action on both tables too.
Eric Lau and Lynn Wilcott ran hot early on building up massive chip stacks separating themselves from the pack, and ironically they were the few members missing from our communal video chat (chirp) room, which probably helped their concentration while missing out on some entertainment too. We welcome more Tinder girlfriend candidate photos by Steve Bridge, our highlight bachelor of the evening... and with hands rolling out so much faster than in-person play, it was no surprise we racked up 16 re-buys, building a tidy pot but yet a small price to pay for some cheap thrills on a self-isolating Saturday night I would think.
Our dubious first-out honour went to J-Lau tonight, but somehow I feel he was more concerned with his late Uber Eats dinner delivery anyways. When the dust settled, our lone EST time zone player, Jeff Yu who joined in from Toronto (with his midnight start time) managed to grind out a respectable 4th place finish for his troubles, while Walt Woo slid into second position in the season standings with a solid 3rd place finish. Your dutiful host, J-Lai rebounds from his boneheaded caboose finish last week to grab a runner-up spot while unable to hold his massive chip lead in the late stages... against the virtual champ, that silent assassin, Gerard Tang, prevailing with his second consecutive ITM finish... I guess all those years of online practice is paying dividends.
Another fun outing, although the post-game re-buy tabulation exercise for the finalists was a task we can do without, but many thanks to that MDPL vet Simon Wong, for sticking around to spearhead the forensic auditing so our winners can savour those future IOU e-transfers!
