2004 WINTER SERIES: GAME #4 REVIEW

Team Jagr (White) 17 vs. Team Carter (Black) 8
Friday, February 13, 2004

Ouch. Another drubbing for Team Carter after their tooth-n-nail OT win last week... Team Jagr wracks up a series high 17 goals in a rout led by captain Allen Leung and another solid offensive effort... game featured lots of subs including the league debut of rookie Randy Kamiya making a fine debut on D with a goal in a losing cause... Jeff Ho also made his series debut reunited with Tom Jong and Jason Lai making a line off the volleyball court and onto the ice... each member scored but way too little, way too late considering the final scoresheet... Team Jagr scored in waves including a phantom goal that went in and out so fast (but ultimately counted) while half the players were scratching their heads while the other half were skating up ice... Jackson Chiu is called for the game's only penalty but playing short-handed wasn't a concern for this hot team tonight, even playing with nine players in their lineup and without sniper Fraser Stampvincent... other members were there to pick up the slack including Dave Cheung who has emerged from his "reconditioning stint" all last series to show vast improvement and contribution as of late... (where did that hard drivin' effort to the net come from??)... Team Carter's absence of regular captain Ron Pong paved the way for Brian Kindrachuk to garner an assistant captain role, but looks like it's back to the drawing board for more strategy and effort next series...

MDHL 3 Stars:
3. Randy Kamiya... great debut with a goal to boot, too bad his team lost.
2. Derek Lowe... stalward on defence and potent up ice rushes too.
1. Allen Leung... little Al showing some big leadership on the ice and the scoreboard.
