Team MDHL 11 vs. Team Archibald 7

And with a bit of creative scheduling (replacing the original game #10 slot mid-series) Team MDHL suited up against alumni members Chris Archibald, Fraser Stampvincent, Brian Kindrachuk and their rookie GPF league team... made for high anticipation with little knowledge of the visiting team but looked good for the MDHL before the puck dropped having a late flurry of stalwart sub-ins with the Oye brothers, Ian Chang, and rookie Eric Lun in the mix... both teams were tentative early on, but none more so than MDHL netminder Norm Chan who fought the puck and heard more than his fair share of posts and dribble-thrus in the game... Team Archibald had to rely on captains Chris and Fraser all night long (including 4 goals from the latter) for offense and perhaps struggled with the pace and longer duration while the MDHL had all three lines rolling nicely while spreading the offense including a bonus goal from rookie Lun and the "grind" line to boot... tied at 2-2 with lots of chances for both sides complimented with clean play throughout, it was the usual MDHL suspects for scoring in the Chang brothers, Leung (with the hat trick!), Oye brothers and a steady defense that pulled away with the game... thanks to Chris for organizing his end of the exhibition match and to Mel for her stellar score and timekeeping efforts... as a result the MDHL moves to .500 for their all-time (unofficial) exhibition record at 3W, 3L, 1T... 'til next time…
In other news, Rich Chang was a late sub out as he becomes a papa for the second time (congrats!), while Jason Lai nurses his busted wing from the sidelines with his mascot to boost the total fan base to 2.
