Poker Marathon in Cyberspace

The MDPL continues to evolve as we move to Zoom for our in-game webcam needs, and pardoning the odd lag or disconnection issues, it was an overall hit as we got to see all 18 of our serious mugs on-screen for our viewing enjoyment (and makes for easier screen capture, not to mention some wonderful supermodel background effects too). Our now standard 2-table, 2-rebuy format was originally pegged to play out as a 3+ hour affair, but in spite of a lighter load of rebuys (11), tonight ended up stretching to nearly five hours for our heads-up finalists. I thought online poker was a fast game, but this one somehow turned into a chess match.
It was a virtual marathon for runner-up Jonathan Brietkopf, in a well deserved effort, considering he maxed out his rebuys (very early on too), but could not capture the announced $10 last-champ bounty from the current titleholder, Simon Wong, who is on a hot streak with two straight victories now and vaults himself to second on the season leaderboard, just like that. Third and forth place ITM finishing props go to Warren Cheng and Walt Woo, with solid efforts of their own, while bubble boy status goes to Carlos Alves, that MDHL scoring winger making a rare MDPL cameo with a strong rookie debut on our virtual series.
The rest of us losers (and eventual spectators in some cases) fell by the wayside as the night wore on, but it was the earliest finish for original veteran Vince Fung... although his video montage of attractive companions in his Zoom background will ensure that history remembers him as the biggest winner of all of us.
