And so our season is now rolling with our second event to stretch out the standings but unfortunately, a few expected participants did not make it into the game when first cards started flying and thus missed the cut. As such, a few less buy-ins somehow evolved into a few less rebuys too, making for a lighter prize pool in recent memory.
Nonetheless, that full patch Mad Dog member, Dharmesh Dass (DD), he of the all-around participation in the Mad Dogs circuit (i.e. poker, hockey, golf, pickleball, curling and gym workouts) turns in a consecutive ITM performance, taking the crown tonight in lively fashion with lots of banter of course... all while making some bold moves and never really being in chip stack trouble and outlasting the rest... including a great season debut from Flavio Marquez who took the runner-up position, but got zorritoed just shy of the top spot.
Meanwhile, Gerard Tang also keeps his ITM streak alive to finish third including that coveted bounty win over his nemesis from last event, J-Lau (the Wolverine), and also trails him by a slim margin in the early season standings. Dr. Vincent Fung happily took fourth spot with the early chip lead and some usual savvy play, while that reigning champ from last season, Simon Wong also finished strong in 5th place... in what turned out to be the random door prize winning slot, leaving your host J-Lai in the sad double-bubble spot. Otherwise, it was a tidy and fun night of poker and once again the Mad Dogs Angels Fund was the grateful recipient of a $26 contribution, so thank you to all for your participation tonight.
