New Wave of Playas in Town

While the MDPL has been in effect for over a decade now, there are always new players (new blood) welcome to the circuit. On this rare evening, it was the new wave of recent additions putting the usual league veterans on notice, with just Walt Woo (making his own season start) representing the old guard (taking 3rd spot), while four rookies captured the top five positions tonight. The newest rookie, Wyatt Atwell made the biggest splash in his first career MDPL start, capping top spot with a patient and well rounded effort, while Marisa Guan cashes in 2nd position and finds renewed confidence in her inaugural year of poker learning. Kelvin Leung and James Sy took 4th and 5th respectively, with the latter doing the rare feat participating entirely from his phone.
Meanwhile, the fairy tale run came to a halt for Gerard Tang ending his insane 3+ event winning streak (if you include one unofficial event) while his triple-sized bounty had everyone salivating (on one table at least). Dr. Vince Fung gleefully collected it while holding rockets at the most opportune time, but Gerard need not worry as his series lead is still a sizable one at this point. J-Lau wins the 6th place random door prize, netting out at zero for the evening and getting a fresh batch of home baked cookies for his effort. As for the rest of us? Back to practice!
