After a short hiatus (and a tax filing deadline passed), it was back to poker action tonight. WIth the pandemic wearing on and summer around the corner, our season is quickly winding down. Last event champ Norman Chan rode the poker rollercoaster from going from first to worst tonight with the earliest exit while generously donating two rebuys in the process... just like five others tonight. Of the five, just Vincent Fung made good on his rebuy strategy, finishing in third place to keep his season title hopes alive (sitting in 2nd position on the leaderboard), while our current series leader sits this one out resigned to newborn diaper duty. Your hapless host finally made his first (official) ITM finish in forth spot and making a microscopic dent in his outstanding bankroll, while it was the battle of the Yus that made for the main event.
Jeff Yu, fighting late night fatigue playing from Toronto time zone tussled with Mark Yu, he of the runner-up from last event and winning many dirty showdowns in the process but after the dust settled, Jeff prevailed and padded his impressive career ITM stats while taking the cherry-on-top bounty too. Fun night and great to see everyone again. Our season finale is scheduled for June, so stay tuned for the fireworks!
