Summer is nearly upon us, which usually see our traditional poker season wind down.. and this odd panemdic year is no different as this event #10 concludes our illustrious 12th year of play. There was a tidy 2-table affair on tap with a few AWOL members not making it out in time for the first hands of the night, thus leaving 15 of us to duke it out.
The season standings were all but a lock for that new daddy Gerard Tang (who skipped the previous outing stuck on diaper duty) while his sizable lead left only a few players in reach of the title that was practically his to lose. Well, he did not miss a beat as he concluded his dream season with a 2nd place finish to Mark Yu (also finishing strong in the final events to vault to a runner-up finish on the season as well). Ironically, as Gerard has been one of our powerhouse veterans of recent years, this is his first season title, so a big year for him on the poker and parenting front.
James Sy took third spot to cap a great rookie campaign, and that ITM juggernaut, Jeff Yu, cashes the 4th spot to make an amazing 3 for 3 in all his event appearances this season. Congrats to Gerard, the ITM finishesrs and all the players this season... kudos to everyone for joining us through this crazy pandemic year and time will tell when poker returns in person with real cards too.
