Team WHITE 7 vs. Team DARK 4 Friday, March 4, 2022
An uber rare penned recap to close out the series and season (our 25th, or thereabouts? Who can remember exactly as we are just that old.) Team Dark had clinched the series in a spirited affair last game so probably were not as hungry as their opposition who came out scoring early and often. Relentless in fact… as running up the score to 5-0 is just plain mean. It was also the league debut of another DD-connected fellow, as Adam Robillard put on a gentlemanly display of great skill and playmaking to help his team to victory... all in front of a record crowd of 3 tonight.
Else the mood was festive (thanks to good music all season long from DJ Norm) and penalty-free tonight, with our post-game shootout for that quenching gatorade prize to follow. Both goalies were on point (or we shooters were extra lousy tonight) as no one could score, save for 1 on each side, forcing an ultra rare sudden death situation. Well just like most of this series, it was that sniper John Janekta scoring for Team White and closing out the 2021/22 season. Thanks to everyone for another fun campaign in the books, managing it in a pandemic year no less. Frank and I look forward to seeing you all next year. Stay healthy and in shape!
