Eight is Enough

Our annual Mad Dogs Golf outing moved to Kings Links (in haste, realizing our original target being Ledgeview was not available). Kept it tidy with a cap of eight players this time making for easier logistics and a tighter knit group. Also a later (noon) start made for a more casual pace on a slightly muggy but manageable day. Our now traditional putting contest sorta looked rigged when the co-host, Kyle Uno takes the randomized opening slot in the order and still crushes the field by a wide margin, while Dharmesh' first crack at this event shows he still has a bit of work to put in for next year.

Everyone was driving everywhere, via carts and errant shots with plenty of video clips shared throughout. Good times with just one KP event uncontested as no one could find that big 'ol green, so it was relegated to a chipping battle at the practice green post match. Both foursomes converged on the final hole to make for a fun, if not chaotic way to end the round. After the dust settled, co-hosts Kyle Uno and Jason Lai both reeled in two titles apiece, while Jack Wong returned to the winners' circle (after bagging 3 events last year) with a KP win. On the driving event, that wyly Coach Steve Beemish smoked one down the fairway for the long drive honours to round out the winners' group.
Our post-round dinner was diverted to the nearby casino (who closes their clubhouse kitchen on a Saturday evening??) for some dinner/drinks, and also where the raffle prize draw was held for those present. Once again, that co-host (and pre-event ringer) Kyle Uno won more loot as he took home a pair of Canucks tickets (courtesy of Steve and HUB International), capping a long day, but a fun day as summer winds down. Kyle and Jason hope to see you all next year... same time, new place (annually on the last Saturday in August)!
