Pickleball spouses unite!

Year 5 of the annual PB affair got underway and it was an MXD format this time, which found (mostly) spouses uniting as teams in hopes of etching their names on the trophy. Things started out dicey with clouds and a wet court, but max credit goes to the players turned maintenance crew, armed with brooms, blowers, and towels to whip the court into playable shape, thanks in part to the warm sun that managed to peek out later on.

Many great rallies but only a few spousal spats were detected, yet none caught on video for our future viewing enjoyment. Nonetheless, teams battled it out over 8 long hours of MXD round robin, single elimination medal rounds, mens and womens singles matches, sandwiched by the skills competition and throw in a viet sub lunch break too (thanks to the Dass uber-eats delivery service).

Great day for all, in what seems to be a looming conclusion to a long fun, summer of pickleball. Congrats to all the event winners (hope you enjoy your booze and GC prizes), and thank you to all the participants and volunteers that made this event happen!
