Team Beast 5 vs. Team Feast 10 Friday, June 3, 2005
Team Feast clinches the series! A convincing (yet somewhat deceiving) victory as the 10-5 score didn't indicate as close a game that it felt for the victors. Team Feast were firing on all cylinders with balanced offense (4 goals from each forward line and 2 from the rearguards) and unlikely contributors on the scoresheet... D Sherman Woo pots a nice deflection in front (while swimming on the ice repeatedly to make plays all night)... LW Tommy Wong hits the post and in from the slot... while D Eric Lun scores on a sweet solo blueline rush. On the other end, Team Beast were working hard but didn't have the puck luck and on this night, Dennis Chan's all-time career goal scoring streak finally came to an end... rookie Calvin Cheng notched his first on a goal mouth gift and lost that perverbial piano off his back after so many chances during the series to-date. Assistant Captain Chris Archibald was solid in a rare blueline appearance playing tough, clean and sparking his team with offense on the rush while usual offensive contributors Allen Leung and Albert Chang were working hard but didn't get as many breaks as had hoped although their team had some periods of momentum throughout. Both teams appeared guilty of false-start offside calls but in hindsight, it didn't affect the outcome. Team Feast scored timely goals and had the better chances with usual sniper Anthony Chang burying his chances to put the game out of reach when it was still a game at 7-4 with momentum sliding. Unfortunately, Team Beast didn't have their best effort out there playing with only 9 on the bench and trying to deal with a fast paced game. In any case, Team Feast still has pride on the line for the remaining two games and continue to control the goaltender selections from here on in.
