2005 SPRING SERIES: GAME #10 REVIEW

Team Beast 14 vs. Team Feast 10
Friday, June 17, 2005

And so the final game of the series and season is upon us... both teams still came to play in light of the series outcome decided from a few games back... newbie sub Colin Lee joins in the action making his debut to the ice after the puck dropped with friend and partner in crime, Anthony Chang... both vindicated themselves nicely with high octane offense and helping center Jason Lai to a four goal evening... the alternate line had center and captain Derek Lowe feeling confident enough to pull his ringette antics for a possession or two... while linemate Travis Wong impressed both sides with his quick-release snapshot goal... all the latter were in a losing cause as Team Beast still played for pride and took the victory behind strong play from super subs Nixon Lee and Aaron Oye... 'twas a close game until the mid-way mark with Team Feast up 7-6 only to watch the grit of Team Beast counterpunch with four unanswered goals... truly the turning point of the game... in other events, Allen Leung made a rare appearance on defence, supposedly "forced" to play there by captain Ron Pong... Jackson Chiu garnered the game's only penalty but the ensuing Team Beast powerplay had no teeth to match... Goalie Jay Estoque closes out another victory and an unofficial winning streak after being called upon each time in the "underdog-team-goalie-selection" rule... while Raymon Hsiao fittingly subs in for the final game winning an unofficial "most sub appearances in a season" award... and so at the game's conclusion, both teams posed for a team photos starting a new MDHL tradition to add to the legacy... enjoy the summer, everyone... see you next Fall!
