Team G-Unit 11 vs. Team Murder Inc 5 Friday, October 21, 2005
And the series is officially knotted at two games apiece... in a rarity, Murder Inc. happens to field their full 13 man regular roster to the tee, while Team G-Unit has the good karma to land a bumper crop upgrade of substitutes including alumni Chris Archibald and the league debut of veteran Fernando Chow... both members were contributing factors in a decisive win... the latter with a solid defensive showing and the former with great playmaking and one sweet deflection goal... captain Ron Pong also makes his series debut to bolster the blueline and making a veritable fortress to break through for Murder Inc. whose snipers (notably franchise players Anthony Chang, Aaron Oye and Travis Wong) were held at bay for most of the night... referee-glad-to-be-back-playing Stan Quan also makes his series debut working out the rust from his blueline... G-Unit blue chpper Sean Oye continues his dominant play at both ends of the rink while the rest of his squad were able to coast to a reasonably comfortable win on a night featuring the first ever mid-game-timeout to pace the two hour slot... in other plays, Allen Leung is the recipient of a "skater sandwich" getting the painful end of a WWF like play, while Sherman Woo self-confesses to the game's only penalty in the offensive zone burning his chance for a rare hat trick... Simon Wong played well with flashes of offensive threats in the absence of brother Dave's first sub out... Norm Chan gets the win in net, while Shelby Lui looks for revenge next week.
