Team SixtySix 15 vs. Team NinetyNine 14 Friday, February 24, 2006
The streak of close nail biting games continue, as Team SixtySix pull out another gutsy (and scary) one goal victory... the MDHL programming crew have been sleeping on the job and haven't fixed an obvious (but rare) system flaw, thus allowing Jay Lee to sub in as an extra body... one by which Team NinetyNine were happy to include... it was an anyones-game situations in penalty-free end to end action all night long... continual sub Lonny Wong turns in another stellar performance to pace an energy line and keep the game close through the early stages... with fellow winger and ex-D man Jay Chu on the other wing... Team NinetyNine had their offense rolling for most of the evening paced by Kenny Chiu and the Chang brothers... and getting to goalie Shelby Lui who promptly took it out on his defenseless stick... to add to the drama, Shelby took a dinger off the mask in the warm-up to add to his equipment woes... ultimately he re-grouped to make some stellar saves and steal victory... Stan Quan leaves mid-game with an undisclosed injury and misses the late game drama with two late and super quick goals by his side to pull within one goal... but pulling Norm Chan from the net didn't pay dividends for Team NinetyNine in spite of a pair of quick goals in the final minutes to keep things close.
