2006 SPRING SERIES: GAME #9 REVIEW

Team MAGNUM 4 vs. Team BIRETTA 3
Friday, June 16, 2006

Boom! The series stalemate is broken and Team Magnum get to the magic 5 game mark in one of the most low scoring games in recent memory... once again, Team Beretta miss both their captains Albert Chang and Travis Wong but stay the course in any case... both teams played 9 aside including a pre-game sendover of regular Robert Watson to the opposition based on the 2-men down levelling rule... both teams were hard pressed for offense but had chances and posts at both ends... Steve Thauberger returns to a solid D outing, after a lengthy absence away in a foreign land... Lawrence Lau also returns to action getting involved in many a way, collisions, penalty, giveaway, forecheck, backcheck, and of course a goal, you name it, he did it... otherwise, this nail biter stayed close to the buzzer but Team Magnum hangs on for the victory and put pressure on Team Beretta to eke out a win next week to force a series-deciding shootout!
