2007 SPRING SERIES: GAME #8 REVIEW

Team LIGHTNING 4 vs. Team THUNDER 12
Friday, June 8, 2007

In a stunning role reversal, Team Thunder come out with a vengence after having lost the series in the game previous... storming out to a shocking 6-0 lead and forcing Team Lightning to trigger the goalie switch rule while shaking their heads in disbelief... in hindsight, their creative lineup on this night was probably not their best leaving a usual sniper but tired sub Raymond Toy on defence, while Gord Chan played forward and wondered what he was supposed to be doing for most of the night. In a rarity, goalie Michel Thibaudeau draws a delay-of-game penalty as he fires the puck over the glass as noted by some astute players… in a move which eventually drew a short handed marker for his side! Regardless, perhaps the hockey gods took pity or just plain old payback was due, but it was a much needed morale booster for Team Thunder and they look to build more momentum in the final two games.
