2008 SPRING SERIES: MDHL GAME #1 REVIEW

Team PUDDIN POPS 6 vs. Team BLUEHORSE SHOE 15
Friday, April 4, 2008

Def Leppard and Three Doors Down ring in the spring series at Richmond Ice as new teams do battle in relative Olympic-sized ice... after the online votes were tallied, Sean Oye / Albert Chang lead Team Dark, while Anthony Chang / Lawrence Lau lead Team White... bystanders pegged Team Dark to have more speed, while Team White had a core of veteran players... and on this night, speed kills as Team Dark rang up a 10-3 lead before triggering a goalie swap with the outcome all but salted... Team Dark had both forward lines buzzing all night long, while Team White stacked a line with Anthony Chang - Jim Chan - Travis Wong, looking dangerous and dazzling the crowd with their stretch passes, but generally coming up short on production... so it ends in a lopsided affair this time around, but still ample time for chemistry and strategy to turn the tide... finally, game antics aside, a few select players likely got more stoked in being able to scam a free pizza at the post-game meal, so we'll see what next week has in store…

MDHL STARS OF THE GAME
  Norman Chan
Great debut as a defenceman, doing all the little things right including those cheeky backward spin passes.

Solid outing in his return to MDHL action after a long tenure away.
  Jason Lai
If not for the 4-goal output, then surely for keeping the pre-game music streak alive.
