2008 SPRING SERIES: MDHL GAME #5 REVIEW

Team PUDDIN POPS 5 vs. Team BLUEHORSE SHOE 10
Friday, May 2, 2008

Black Sabbath opens the pre-game music fittingly on the opening weekend of Iron Man... meanwhile, a league initiated competition clause kicked in to signal a trade after the fourth game seeing captain Sean Oye (coincidentally playing his last game of the series) and his to-be brotherly replacement Aaron, go to the other side in return for Gord Chan (and thus reuniting the Chan brothers)... looked like a blockbuster deal on paper, but the game was decidedly close in the first half yet again... both teams traded powerplay goals, with particular mention to Team Puddin Pops running perhaps the best looking powerplay in recent MDHL memory... in the latter stages however, it was the Team Bluehorse Shoe forward lines rolling with ultra-efficiency and paying dividends on the scoresheet all around to pull away with the double-up victory... sub goalie Jason Zeidler gets his second win in as many starts with his fan base intact yet again.

MDHL STARS OF THE GAME
  Lonny Wong
Centered his line with great rotation and a gritty effort and hat trick to boot.
  Eric Lun
More hard work and smart plays to parlay two goals of his own to add to his line's effectiveness.
  Sean Oye
Always a powerhouse threat on ice, but pending fatherhood ultimately draws him into retirement from f/t ranks.
