2008 SPRING SERIES: MDHL GAME #9 REVIEW

Team BLUEHORSE SHOE 9 vs. Team PUDDIN POPS 6
Friday, May 30, 2008

As summer approaches, so do the instances of more sub appearances, as no less than 7 players sub into the action tonight... among others, Robert Watson makes a long-time return to action and gets involved early, trying to stop a breakaway and gets tangled up with Terry Wong, with the latter ending up in a crash in the end boards ending his night with lower-back spasms... Team Puddin Pops were still desperate for more wins and played a Team Canada grindin-style with skill led by Aaron Oye and Allen Leung, while usual blue chippers Travis Wong and Anthony Chang were AWOL yet again... the former duo did pick up the slack somewhat but were foiled yet again by Team Bluehorse Shoe despite their rather inept attempt at power plays... but alas were still led by their captain Albert Chang, his super speed and a multi-goal night... capping an empty-net goal for some insurance when their opponents pulled the goalie down by two goals with 3 minutes left... in other news, the league finally got a chance to exercise its new rule, applying stop-time with less than two minutes left on a late-game penalty call... also, thanks to your diplomatic (but firm) GM, the game was allowed to run its course after the ice crew had pulled the gate with over 6 minutes (!) to play...

Another shorthanded marker to his resume, and a force but in a losing cause.
  Albert Chang
Brought his A-game and super speed tonight.

A self-evaluation as an *average* player proved a bit off wtih his super skill showing tonight.
