SPRING 2009 SERIES: MDHL GAME #11 REVIEW

Team Liberal 2 vs. Team Conservative 11
Friday, May 22, 2009

After a long weekend, play resumes with a record eight subs in the mix and some of the last-minute variety... none more last minute than Sam Yee who takes a spot with about 100 minutes to game time... gotta love that enthusiasm... meanwhile, ex-GM Stan Quan makes a rare, annual appearance too... and so both teams battled in what appeared to be a low scoring affair with a 1-1 deadlock for the longest stretch... but goalie sub and still rookie-like Richard Chang was in for a goal onslaught in the latter half as Team Conservative kicked it up a notch... while the opposition were hard pressed to light the lamp... as the score crept up and the lead widened, the losing team captains refused to exercise the goalie swap rule (5x over to be exact) in a questionable strategic non-move... or perhaps it was a go-down-in-flames kinda night for them... either way, the tight game unraveled and this one is in the books... can Team Liberal resume their early series lead and find that series clinching win?

MDHL STARS OF THE GAME
  Sam Yee
On the losing end, but arguably the most solid D man on either side.
  Ronald Lai
Yes, the other Lai for a change... not a bad showing after a 10+ year absence.
  Peter Johnson
Lights out performance tonight... err, except for that buzzer beater to double his goals against.
