FALL 2009 SERIES: MDHL GAME #9 REVIEW

Team Red 7 vs. Team Blue 3
Friday, November 13, 2009

An injury scare steals the show as Ray Chan meets the end boards as the final result of a hard charging breakout from the Team Blue end of the rink... after busting through two defenders down the slot and making contact with the goalie seeing a contested puck ending up in the net... Ray did his best Ryan Johnson impersonation and gets a ride in the ambulance complete with back board and neck brace for his efforts... special kudos to Dr. Calvin Cheng and his trusty assistant Eric Lun who oversaw the whole post-play process... while the rest of us rubberneckers added not much else to mix (but well wishes of course)... but alas, Ray is fine, but not so with his team thereafter who dropped the ball on the score-keeping duty and lit a fire under Team Red thinking they were a goal behind with limited ice time left... and thus (having two men short) Team Blue saw a 4-3 game slip away in the dying minutes of an injury-shortened game... at least the sound system was restored (somewhat) to cap an otherwise anti-climatic evening.

MDHL STARS OF THE GAME
  Raymond Chan
The star of the evening carted out on a stretcher... go figure.
  Calvin Cheng
Playing doctor in the house... literally, and gets an errant puck in the ear for this troubles.
  Jackson Chiu
Got his exercise in and out of the rink running around the building looking for paramedics.
