SPRING 2010 SERIES: MDHL GAME #6 REVIEW

Team Air Benders 6 vs. Team Crease Crashers 10
Friday, May 14, 2010

Team Crease Crashers strike back with a victory in this see-saw series... looked to be in the bag early on, or at least a bad omen for the opposition... as Team Air Benders started the game with missing players, a non-warmed-up goalie, scored on in the first shot, and a rare own-goal gaffe... all in the first three minutes of the game and down 2-0 on the scoreboard... rest of the game was not much better as they were outworked and unable to breakout of their own zone effectively... the other side worked tirelessly it seemed and won most of the puck battles and thus never relinquished the lead... late in the game in the only powerplay of the night, the underdogs ran an unusually impressive offensive zone setup, but could not yield a goal to bridge the gap... all under the watchful eye of the referee Jason Lai, doing his power-hungry, whistle-happy Stephane Auger impression on this night, calling more than a few crease violations to keep the night interesting...

MDHL STARS OF THE GAME
  Tony Huynh
Best sub hands-down, and likely best player on his side albeit in a losing cause.
  Lonny Wong
Another tireless effort, but just one of many hard working forwards on his team tonight.
  Ravi Naidu
Finding some on-ice chemistry with his buddies, and kind enough to lend the GM a baseball glove to boot.
