Season ender with an epic finish!

The second season wraps with a two table affair and World Cup theme in motion with countries, Japan, Spain, Italy, Mexico, South Korea, Brazil and England represented tonight for their coveted Show-Em chips... it was most of the usual suspects here for the final wind up as Norm Chan, Jason Lai and Lackey Condolenius (with an outside shot) were all in contention for the season leaderboard title... unfortunately the latter had to bow out in absentia but was generous enough to commit his buy-in fees without having played a single hand...
So 15 players were left to duke it out... Roland Kym played well with his fearless re-raising strategy and finished with a solid 4th place (ITM) finish... while last season's champ Peter Choi bowed out early not making the final table... Victoria Wong also finished out of the money which blemished her consecutive ITM finishes in past appearances... but it was the late night action that saw too many ridiculous river card suck outs to believe making for great entertainment... especially for the final three players where each were punished seemingly in turn and elimination appeared impossible (if not for those rising blinds)... it made for a great storyline as Norm and Jason were battling until the end with titles on the line, but it was Andy Kwan coming back from a few yellow chips and drawing to some shocking straight hands to take the evening's title and his first ever ITM finish at the MDPL... meanwhile, Norm's second place finish was not enough to overcome Jason's overall standing so the host manages to break the mythical $1K barrier and take the season title... a great night of poker and as usual it bears mention of the many fine contributions from our guests including baked goods, fruit, beverages, chips, candies, and complimentary top-ups for the host... all very much appreciated... hope everyone has a great summer and see you at the tables next season (if not earlier)!
