Team NEO 9 vs. Team MATRIX 8 OT

Revenge is best served cold. A second consecutive Friday night where last minute sub-outs left both teams playing with nine soldiers. History is usually written by the victors and everything was going as planned... for both teams. Team Matrix hit the ice with all guns a blazing in a Blitzkrieg style attack trying to repeat the massacre that occurred the week before as they jumped to an early 5-0 lead. Game over, right? Goalie change? White flag? Begging for mercy? Saying uncle?

Absolutely not! It was a trap. The generals for Team Neo had two secret weapons: a Rocky II video that the team was forced to watch pregame and Sean Oye. Yes it was brilliant. The Balboa strategy was working as Team Matrix started to tire from trying to deliver the knock out blow. That was the cue for Team Neo to get off the ropes and to start fighting back. It was perhaps the greatest counter attack in sports history. The prey had become the predators as Team Matrix were holding on for their dear lives and went into defensive mode as Team Neo chipped away at their lead in a valiant team effort with Sean scoring goals at will. By the time the horn sounded both teams, exhausted and banged up, were at a stale mate as the score clock read 8-8.

This was World War III and there had to be a winner. Thanks to iceman Chad the game was extended and it became next-goal-wins situation. Chad had to wait and watch for a while as both teams had glorious chances to end the battle but failed to convert. It was not until the teams decided to go four on four that Team Neo champions delivered the final blow to put a perfect ending to a fantastic story.
