Most of these are common sense but now you have no excuses for when you show up, whether it's your first time or your first decade playing with the MDHL.
Arrive early. MDHL rosters are pre-planned and therefore, your attendance, either as a f/t player or a sub is likely counted on by your team and captains regarding line combinations, warmup and strategy. It also is a good idea to be prepared and have a decent warm up!
Bring your own water. Good practice so you know you won't be dying of thirst nor having to worry about spreading your germs or getting anyone else's.
Have a WHITE and DARK jersey. While rosters are pre-planned, the odd occasion will see a pre-game trade for a variety of reasons, and that trade bait might be you.
Respect your fellow players. Regardless of which side you are on, please be mindful of the physical contact on the ice, as well as your own shifts so as not to hog the ice time! Also, the honour system applies to (positional) off-side calls in the absence of a ref, so please respect the calls and forgive the (honest) mistakes that may occur.
Play a team game. MDHL games are meaningful on the scoresheet and in the record books, meaning everyone wants to win! So do pay attention to your role and position, whether it be as a sniper or a checker, your team mates will likely be looking to you to contribute! Reading between the lines, that would mean no floating, no goal sucking, no puck hogging, etc.
